In 2025, Elon Musk’s X, formerly known as Twitter, intends to launch its streaming and financial services, X Money and X TV. This is a component of the platform’s transformation into an “everything app,” and CEO Linda Yaccarino says that other improvements to the AI chatbot Grok are also planned.
CEO Linda Yaccarino of Elon Musk’s microblogging site X (previously Twitter) has stated that the company would launch financial and streaming services in 2025. This action advances the platform’s goal of becoming an “everything app,” akin to WeChat in China. Yacaarino unveiled X Money and X TV in an X post with the goal of growing the platform beyond social media engagement. In addition to these functionalities, Grok, X’s AI chatbot, will also get improvements in 2025. “The world was turned upside down by X. The media are YOU now! 2025 X will bring you together in ways you never imagined. X TV, X Money, Grok and more. Buckle up. Happy New Year!”.
The news is in line with the company’s 2023 rebranding goals, which included introducing X Premium, doing away with the old authentication process, and substituting an “X” for the original Twitter bird logo.
The idea of making X an “everything app” was discussed by Elon Musk.
In October 2023, Elon Musk stated, “We’re rapidly transforming the company from what it was, Twitter 1.0, to the everything app,” at an internal X meeting. According to him, the software is now being developed into “a single application that encompasses everything.” Yaccarino stated on X that same year: “Twitter has been pushed for years by both fans and detractors to dream larger, develop quicker, and realize our immense potential. That and more is what X will do.
Our quick feature launches over the last eight months have already begun to define X, but we’re only beginning.” “There is absolutely no limit to this transformation,” she added. The platform X will be able to deliver—well, everything. I’m excited to work with our teams and all of our partners to deliver X to the world, together with @elonmusk.“
