Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was recently awarded an honorary engineering degree by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. During his discussion at the university, Huang shared his unique approach to expanding his knowledge, revealing that he uses his artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot to “push” the limits of his learning. He explained that he “tortures” the AI to help him understand new concepts, saying, “I use my AI, and I torture my AI to teach me.” Huang elaborated on this technique, mentioning that he asks the AI five follow-up questions to dive deeper into understanding the information.
The five questions Huang asks his AI
The first step in Huang’s method is to ask the AI to justify a certain response. Following that, he instructs the AI to explain the explanation in detail. After that, he asks the chatbot to present the explanation in different forms and applies the reasoning to various scenarios. Finally, Huang requests analogies to help clarify the concept further.
The beginning of the AI revolution
Earlier, Huang addressed a group of engineering students, declaring that “the age of AI has begun.” He emphasized that this new era of computing is set to transform every industry and field of science. The 61-year-old leader of the world’s most valuable chipmaker expressed his excitement about the current opportunities, admitting he wished he had started his career during this pivotal time. “The whole world is reset. You’re at the starting lines with everybody else. An industry is being reinvented. You now have the tools to push science forward in so many areas,” he said. Huang concluded by stating, “What were once the greatest challenges of our time now seem solvable.”
