Jim Taiclet, the CEO of US-based Lockheed Martin, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. The CEO expressed commitment to fortifying bilateral ties between the two democracies while recognizing the potential and abilities of the Indian labor force.
The business released a statement saying, “As a dependable partner for more than three decades, we acknowledge the bright talent and potential of the local sector and are dedicated to bolstering the defense and industrial links between our two nations.
India has exported defense items worth roughly millions of dollars to the United States through Lockheed Martin, a multinational firm specializing in information security, weaponry, defense, aerospace, and technology.
PM Modi visited the US as a state guest last year. The visit was deemed “truly historic” by the arms company. After Modi’s state visit, the company released a statement saying, “This visit is going to take our relationship (India-US ties) to the next level and I think that’s a cross-hold sector for supply chain resilience.”
The US and India’s relationship is now closer than it was before PM Modi’s visit. During the visit, several investments were disclosed. Deputy commissioner for international affairs at the mayor’s office of New York City, Dilip Chauhan, stated that there are currently 120,000 Indian American doctors working in the country and that 28,000 Indian American hotels are owned by Indian-Americans. He further stated that this is the ideal time for economic cooperation between the two nations.
