A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on “Commercial Bank LEAP GlobalLinker,” an innovative web solution created to empower entrepreneurs through digital marketing and e-commerce, was signed by Dialog Enterprise, the corporate ICT solutions arm of Dialog Axiata PLC, Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC, GlobalLinker, and Databox Technologies. This is a historic step toward accelerating digital transformation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
As the technology partner for Commercial Bank’s e-commerce platform, Commercial Bank LEAP GlobalLinker, Dialog Enterprise, the leading catalyst for digital innovation across multiple enterprise sizes, teams up with the bank to mobilize the digital marketing space for SMEs in Sri Lanka. Together with Databox Technologies, the managed service provider that guarantees seamless integration and technical support, and GlobalLinker, a B2B business networking platform with commerce capabilities to make SME business digitally discoverable, the partnership aims to set a new standard in the digital marketplace for SMEs in Sri Lanka.
Digital marketing and e-commerce tools would be made available by this project, allowing business owners to set up their online stores, interact with one another, and engage in both domestic and foreign buying and selling. SMEs have distinct demands, and our network hub is made to meet those needs by giving them the resources and assistance they need to succeed in the digital economy. The initiative intends to equip SMEs on the GlobalLinker platform—as well as newcomers—with cutting-edge digital and communication technologies to augment their business capacities by harnessing the platform’s reach.
“We are thrilled to partner with such innovative, dedicated, and like-minded companies, working towards a common cause,” stated Navin Pieris, Group Chief Enterprise Officer of Dialog Axiata PLC. This solution demonstrates our dedication to spearheading digital transformation and giving SMEs the tools they require to thrive in the current digital environment.
“This partnership represents a significant step forward in empowering small and medium entrepreneurs,” stated Sivasubramaniam Ganeshan, Assistant General Manager of Personal Banking III/SME at Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC. Our creation of an all-inclusive digital marketplace not only facilitates the provision of business loans but also fosters a strong environment conducive to the growth of SMEs. We’re excited to observe how this partnership will benefit the community of entrepreneurs.
According to the provisions of the MoU, Commercial Bank will lead market formation and entrepreneur onboarding, and Dialog Enterprise will use its technology know-how to support the platform’s infrastructure. Entrusted with the development of the e-store, GlobalLinker will guarantee the platform’s growth and technological soundness, while Databox Technologies will offer managed services, continuous technical know-how, and payment gateway integration.
This partnership represents a significant milestone in the digital transformation journey for SMEs, providing them with a powerful and user-friendly platform to broaden their reach and grow their businesses.
